Investors Can Pray for Daily Bread

Jesus and Money

So, although they're isn't any direct biblical instructions on how to "Flip this House" you may be surprised that Jesus told us exactly how to pray about real estate profits and money.

So let me ask you, have you ever wondered what Jesus meant when He told you to pray : "Give us this day, our daily bread?" Many of us have recited that prayer for years without a full understanding of just how linked to money those words are.

Put simply, when one of his disciples ask him to "teach us to pray" Jesus curtailed a prayer found in Proverbs 30:7. Reading it helps supply clarification and reference of what Jesus was saying to us, so here it is; “Two things I ask of you Lord; give me neither poverty nor riches, 'but give me only my daily bread.' Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, “who is the Lord?’ or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of God."

Why is this important for me and you? Because Jesus knew that we are prone to become consumed by passions, or overcome with fears or we easily fall to temptations of lust. And 99% of the time, money can buy them all. Money can buy people, cars, houses, prestige, and even fame.

Take-Aways:

  • We should feel comfortable praying about money. In fact, the object of the phrase "give us this day, our daily bread" is money.

  • This prayer suggests that we have a "zone" of financial security that impacts the quality of our relationship with God.

  • Furthermore, the prayer acknowledges that God knows exactly where this "zone" is for each of us, though we may not.

  • Finally, Jesus is teaching us when we put God control over our finances, when we trust him with our financial security, He will give us exactly what we need to promote our proximity to Him.

  • Next time you pray the Lords Prayer, realize your giving God the power over your finances so that you won't disown Him secondary to prosperity, or shame His name secondary to poverty.

  • Lastly, and most importantly you're recognizing that your spirit's ultimate destination is more valuable to you than anything else money can buy.

Be Strong and Courageous!

Nick

P.S. Why not start asking for the power to handle a lot more profit than you have in the past? hahahahahah...
